Marathon Runner in Training! - 06/09/2011

Ruth was surprised and delighted to receive a phonecall from the team at Children With Cancer charity, to confirm a place to run the London Marathon 2012.

Places are usually offered in October 2011 after Virgin Marathon organisers have allocated the ballot places. However, Children With Cancer select a few applications who stand out or have links to them in some way. So I was incredibly proud to have been chosen.

Having had a little less time to run over the school holidays, it is back to training with a vengeance - the 1st 2 runs were a real struggle.

However, I look at the strength of character and determination of many of my patients, who have no choice but to push themselves every day, and I know that whatever happens, I WILL cross that finish line!
