Ruth and Ruth climb Kilimanjaro - 14/03/2010
What a wonderful experience!
Ruth A and Ruth K (referred to on the trek as R1 and R2) have spent a gruelling 10 days following the footsteps of the comic relief team on Kilimanjaro in Kenya.
At over 5000m, it is the highest mountain (well Volcano actually) in Africa. Fortunately the climb is reasonably straightforward and only had 1 steep rockface that could loosly be referred to as rock climbing. We were lucky to have an excellent team of tireless porters who overtook us with incredible loads on their heads, and even more fortunate to have an excellent chef. Although we eventually lost our appetites.
We are so grateful to all who supported us and raised so much money for the Limbless Association and Oxfam. And now we are looking forward to a well earned rest!
